English Español Mariusz Wnuk named new CEO of ORLEN Unipetrol

He will join Adam Jarosz and Tomáš Herink at the company’s Board of Directos alongside Zbigniew Pawłucki, who has been named its vice-chairman.

The ORLEN Unipetrol Group’s Board of Directors has named Mariusz Wnuk as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm.

In addition, Wnuk and Zbigniew Pawłucki have become new members of the Board, with Pawłucki also being elected as vice-chairman. Currently, the Board includes a total of four members, completed alongside Adam Jarosz and Tomáš Herink.

"The ORLEN Unipetrol group and the entire industry face a big task in the form of transformation towards a sustainable future and emission neutrality. In the short term, our current challenge is to complete the transition process to new types of crude oil blends in the Litvínov refinery," said Wnuk.

Mariusz Wnuk is a manager with 20 years of experience in senior management and supervisory positions in the capital market, banking and leasing industry. From 2009 to 2024, he served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pocztylion-Arka Powszechne Towarzystwo Emerytalne, in charge of asset management and overseeing reorganization, implementation and acquisition projects. 

From 2005 to 2009, he acted as Deputy Director General of Poczta Polska and previously worked for the Bank for European Cooperation, Gdynia Shipyard and the Gdansk Institute for Market Economics.

Zbigniew Pawłucki is a manager with 30 years of experience in procurement, investment and production management, and business restructuring. He was a member of the boards of directors at companies active in the automotive industry and the refining and petrochemical segment. 

As the executive director for CAPEX, he had been responsible for CAPEX and the restructuring of group companies at PKN ORLEN S.A. since 2009. As the vice-chairman of the Board of Directors at Izoblok S.A., he had been responsible for integration, development, sales, and procurement since 2018. Recently, he has worked on the organization of an energy storage facility that stabilizes energy networks.
